MG has planned an all-electric, sporty hatchback called MG2 for the summer of 2027, and coincidentally, the company unveiled today at the Goodwood Festival of Speed the MG GO! - a Mini-looking sporty hatch concept that may very well be the base for that car.
The MG GO! was joined by another concept, the MG Cyber, which is supposed to be a high-performance SUV. Both concept models will serve as a staple for MG's next-generation electric vehicles.
The MG GO! concept is designed at the MG Design Center in London, and the goal was to recreate the classic styling without making it look too old. Instead, the MG GO! borrows some design elements from other iconic MG models like the MGB GT and draws inspiration from performance models like the MG Metro Turbo, MG ZR and MG EX4. The last couple of models are the source of this sporty vibe that the MG GO! has.
The main goal of MG is to extract as much satisfaction from driving a sporty vehicle as possible, while maintaining a relatively low price point and practicality.
Unfortunately, MG didn't provide a glimpse of the interior, so we will have to wait a little longer for that.
Moving on with the MG Cyber concept, which is the exact opposite of the MG GO!. It's a large, high-end, performance SUV. It draws inspiration from the MG EX181 - a speed record-setting vehicle from the past.
Again, the focus here is to bring exceptional driving dynamics and sporty feel without sacrificing practicality and range in the process.
In addition to the two concepts, MG showcased its advancements in key technologies like AI, ADAS, LiDAR, advanced camera technologies and vehicle connectivity.
