The Freelander 8 is going to be the first production vehicle coming out of the Chery and Jaguar Land Rover's joint venture, and it was announced about a month ago with key specs but without any details regarding the interior and features. Today we get to see what's inside this boxy, all-terrain EREV SUV.
Undoubtedly, the centerpiece feature is the massive pillar-to-pillar screen that replaces the traditional instrument cluster. We've already seen this approach with BMW's new iX3 and iX5 models. The display measures 46.3" in diagonal and is complemented by the 15.6-inch center infotainment screen.
What's more, the Freelander 8 will come packed with Huawei-made tech and Qualcomm's upgraded Snapdragon 8397 automotive chip.
For instance, the SUV ships with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 system that uses an advanced 896-channel LiDAR.
The rest of the specs are already known - 60 kWh battery with 137 miles pure electric range and peak charging power of 350 kW. The range-extender is a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 154 hp output.
The vehicle is expected to hit the Chinese streets in the second half of 2026.
