Porsche's Cayenne EV 2027 update includes wireless charging capability and a slew of new features

Porsche unveiled the Cayenne Electric model year 2027 with new features, a slew of new color options and wireless charging capabilities. Yes, you read that right - the new Cayenne EV can now be ordered with wireless charging support.

The wireless charging feature is enabled by additional vehicle-side hardware and a costly ground pad that you need to install in your garage. The pad itself offers an impressive 90% efficiency and can deliver charging power of up to 11 kW. There's also an automatic charging halt if, for example, your pet walks under the car while charging.

It's important to note that the feature is available only to European customers for now, but Porsche has confirmed that it's also coming to the US market in the near future. Also, if you are waiting on a Taycan or Macan EVs with wireless charging, don't hold your breath, as the tech requires a bigger chassis, making the Cayenne the only compatible model in Porsche's portfolio.

Other new features include self-closing doors, a new massage seat with 16 air cushions, and a sound system that delivers a "4D musical experience."

The carmaker also added a ton of new color options. In addition to the previously available 13 paint jobs, the Cayenne Electric 2027 can now be ordered in 105 colors.
