Nio released its unaudited results for Q2 2022, which show the carmaker was able to deliver 25,059 EVs to their owners, just shy of what it managed in Q1, but up on a yearly basis.

Total revenue was RMB 10,29 million (US $1,536 million) - a year-on-year increase of 21%.

Nio's gross profit was RMB 1,340 million (US $200 million) - a decrease of 14.8% YoY and a decrease of 7.4% over Q1 2022.

The gross margin was 13% in Q2 2022 compared to 18.6% in Q2 2021, and 14.6% in Q1 2022.

Nio's Q2 2022 net loss was RMB 2,757 million (US $411 million) - a big increase of 369.6% over Q2 2021 and an increase of 54.7% over Q1 2022. The total operating loss was RMB 2,845 million (US $424 million) - an increase of 272.8% over Q2 2021, and 30% over Q1 2022.

NIO shipped 25 thousand EVs in Q2 but recorded a strong net loss

Nio managed to deliver 25,059 cars in Q2 2022 - 3,681 ES8s, 9,914 ES6s, 4,715 EC6s, and 6,749 ET7s. The carmaker shipped a total of 10,052 cars in July 2022 and 10,677 in August 2022. As of August 31, it has shipped a combined 238,626 vehicles so far.

Nio will be looking to mass produce and ship the new ET5 in September and is hoping the new ES7 will get off to a great start.
