Tesla

Tesla has just increased the price of its Model 3 AWD Long Range model and is now asking almost as much as the Model Y LR variant. The price hike is from $45,990 to $47,490. For reference, the Model Y is currently priced at $47,990.

Tesla Model 3 LR now costs almost as much as the Model Y in the US

The good news is that the standard Model 3 RWD Standard Range is still $38,990. And this is $4,000 less than the base Model Y RWD. However, current Model Y promotion on inventory Model Ys can bring the price below the Model 3.

The reason behind the Tesla's sudden price hike is hard to decode, but if history is of any indication, it's probably because of the increasing Model 3 demand along with the fact that Model Ys are starting to pile up in storage. In any case, if you are situated in the US and you are looking for a small SUV, maybe now is the time to get a cheap Model Y from Tesla's inventory.
