Acura

Acura, the premium sub-brand of Honda, has finally thrown its hat into the electric ring with the announcement of reservations opening for its highly anticipated 2024 ZDX SUV, marking the brand's inaugural foray into the world of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) in the US. Priced starting around $60,000, the ZDX promises not only a thrilling driving experience but also exclusive perks for early adopters.

Acura, following in the footsteps of its parent company Honda, has been somewhat sluggish in embracing electrification. However, with the ZDX, it seems Acura is ready to make up for lost time. The luxury SUV, set to debut in early 2024, boasts both standard and high-performance Type S versions, the latter promising an impressive 500 horsepower and a distinctive "Double Apex Blue Pearl" exterior.

Reservations for the ZDX are officially open, and Acura is pulling out all the stops to entice potential buyers. The pricing details, while not yet fully disclosed, indicate a ballpark figure of $60,000 for the single-motor A-Spec and approximately $70,000 for the dual-motor S-Type version. Despite the imminent launch, Acura remains tight-lipped about the exact figures, leaving prospective buyers in suspense.

Acura's unique omni-channel digital sales process allows interested customers in North America to configure and reserve their ZDX from the comfort of their homes or at the dealership. Although the pricing details remain elusive, Acura sweetens the deal for early customers with enticing benefits.

Scheduled to hit the roads in early 2024, the ZDX brings more than just a dynamic driving experience. Acura is gifting ZDX owners an exclusive Acura Energy Key Card, opening doors to sponsored events such as the Sundance Film Festival and the 2024 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. Additionally, the card offers discounts on entertainment from partners like Topgolf.

Acura emphasizes its commitment to supporting ZDX owners in the electric transition by offering three complimentary charging packages with every purchase. Leveraging agreements with EVgo and Electrify America, Acura ensures that ZDX owners will have convenient access to charging networks, further solidifying its dedication to a seamless EV ownership experience.

As the automotive landscape continues its shift towards electrification, Acura's ZDX signals a bold step into the future. The reserved approach to pricing may leave some questioning the brand's transparency, but with promises of high performance, exclusive perks, and a commitment to facilitating the charging experience, Acura seems poised to make a lasting impression in the electric vehicle market.

In north America if the prices won't go down, EVs will die soon. Prices are too high, range is too small, charging times too high, places to charge very rare etc. Europe has reached the same point and with the ban against cars with batteries ...
