Rivian teases the R2 with a video this time, and it unsurprisingly looks just like a Rivian

Rivian

Rivian is announcing the R2 on March 7 at 10 am PST, and ahead of the event, today it's released the first teaser video for the launch. This follows a teaser image previously shared earlier this month.

The video is all about adventure, and what that means. At the end there's a glance at the R2's front, complete with headlights which are the classic Rivian design, just smaller.

That's pretty much the story of the R2, from what we can gather. It will be a smaller and cheaper version of the R1S, the company's first SUV. The R2 is expected to be much cheaper than that one, in fact - the initial target was for it to start around $40,000. That may have slipped to around $50,000 in the meantime, it's what EV prices do, but even so it will be significantly less than the R1S.

Rivian has also put up a special microsite for the R2's launch, which is where you can enter your email if you want updates right from the source. You'll be able to reserve an R2 starting on March 7 for a refundable $100.
