Stellantis

Stellantis hosted a “Commercial Vehicles Ambition Day” today in Amsterdam, where it announced an impressive fleet of 12 second-generation electric vans. As part of its Pro One commercial vehicles program, these bring comprehensive upgrades, including better efficiency, longer range and newer tech.

Europe gets updated Citroen e-Berlingo, Fiat Doblo, and Opel/Vauxhall Combo, while North American will see the arrival of the Ram ProMaster EV by the end of 2023. And for those longing for a bit more muscle, the Ram 1500 REV electric truck is set to make its debut by the end of 2024.

Let's get to the meat of the matter: the specs.

Compact: 205 miles range - 31 miles more than its predecessor. The exact battery size remains a mystery for now.

Mid-size: 224 miles range with a battery capacity swinging between 50-75 kWh.

Large: 261 miles of range from a 110 kWh battery. Charging from 0-80% in under an hour courtesy of a 150-kilowatt fast charging rate.

Additional perks include regenerative braking, a heat pump to cater to those colder climates, swanky gauge clusters, top-notch infotainment screens, and Level 2 driver assistance features for the large vans. Expect adaptive cruise control with a stop-and-go function, lane centering, and traffic jam assist.

To top it off, hydrogen fuel-cell technology will soon be gracing certain mid-size vans by mid-2024. These will have a range of up to 249 miles. Large vans like the Vauxhall Movano aren’t left behind with a staggering 311 miles range. The best part? Refilling them will take just five minutes.

Stellantis even teased a new delivery van concept that looked suspiciously like the Rivian Amazon EDV, especially with that roll-up rear door. But they played coy under which brand it would go on sale and gave no specifics. Rumor mills, start your engines!
