Stellantis reveals the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer REEV

Jeep Stellantis Announcement

For many people, the biggest worry about electric cars is running out of power, a concern often called "range anxiety." Jeep believes it has an answer for large SUV buyers who want to go electric but aren't ready to give up the security of gasoline.

Stellantis reveals the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer REEV

The company has completely revamped its largest vehicle for the 2026 model year, combining the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer lines into a single, redesigned model that introduces a clever new powertrain. This new option is a range-extender, a type of vehicle that blurs the lines between traditional hybrids and fully electric cars.

The model, called the Grand Wagoneer REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle), is a series hybrid. This means its wheels are always turned by electric motors, providing the instant power and quiet ride of an EV. But it also carries a gasoline engine on board, with one very important difference: the engine never directly powers the wheels. Instead, the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 acts only as a generator, creating electricity to recharge the battery pack when it gets low.

The performance numbers for the Grand Wagoneer REEV are impressive, making it the most powerful version of the vehicle ever offered. Jeep estimates the combined output from its electric motors will be 647 horsepower (482 kW) and 620 lb-ft of torque.

That much power allows the large, three-row SUV to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in five seconds flat. With its large 92 kWh battery and the V6 generator working together, Jeep projects a total driving range of over 500 miles, significantly reducing the need for frequent stops at charging stations on long trips.

To go with its new technology, Jeep gave the 2026 Grand Wagoneer a new face. The design borrows heavily from the all-electric Wagoneer S, giving the SUV a more modern and sleek appearance. The front features a minimalist, illuminated seven-slot grille that flows directly into new, slim headlights.

Below, T-shaped LED daytime running lights give it a distinct look, and the "Wagoneer" lettering on the hood is gone, replaced by a simple "Jeep" logo. The updates continue in the back with new full-width LED taillights. The overall design uses far less chrome, going for a cleaner look, and offers redesigned wheels in sizes from 18 to 22 inches.

Inside the cabin, the updates are focused on technology. The new Grand Wagoneer now comes with a larger 12-inch Uconnect5 infotainment screen, replacing the previous 10.1-inch display. Higher trim levels will also get a new head-up display that projects key information onto the windshield. Jeep says this new system has a much larger field of view and projects its image virtually twice as far as the old version, making it easier for the driver to see without looking down.

For customers not interested in the new range-extender technology, Jeep will continue to offer a gasoline-only version. This model will be powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine that produces 420 horsepower (313 kW) and 468 lb-ft of torque.

The starting price for the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer lineup begins at $62,145, though this price is for the standard gasoline model. Pricing for the REEV variant has not yet been announced. Production of the standard Grand Wagoneer will begin later this year, with the range-extender model scheduled for "late availability."
