Audi

After an unsuccessful run, the original Audi A2 went quickly off the showrooms, but now the company is going for a fully electric reboot. The Audi A2 e-tron is expected to launch sometime this fall, so the German automaker decided to tease the crowd a little bit by boasting an impressive efficiency test by WLTP.

According to WLTP data, the A2 e-tron's consumption can get as low as 12.8 kWh/62 miles, mainly thanks to its drag coefficient of 0.24 Cd. Keep in mind, though, that this figure is achieved with the optional efficiency package that Audi will offer on the A2 e-tron.

Audi used a handful of aero tricks that improve the aerodynamics. It has front-wheel deflectors, gap reducers and gap breathers ahead and behind each wheel, and a dynamic air inlet on the front opens up only when the battery and motor require extra cooling. Audi says that this usually happens only on hot summer days or during more aggressive driving.

When it comes to range, Audi is still silent, but it confirms that it uses an LFP battery and since it shares the same base as the VW ID.3 Neo, it's probably safe to assume that the range will go above 307 miles, which the ID.3 Neo with the middle 58kWh battery offers. Audi has only confirmed a 61 kWh battery for A2 so far, though, so we are yet to see if a bigger pack will boost that further.

I like this body shape. Would be nice to see an estate as well. This is simple and practical design. Hopefully it will have mechanical door handles, buttons on the interior, a good software and a good price
