Volkswagen is giving its new electric ID. Buzz a modern twist. The automaker has partnered with Wrapmate to introduce an online 3D configurator that allows ID. Buzz owners to unleash their creativity and personalize their vehicles with unique wraps and decals.

This innovative collaboration is set to launch on June 2, coinciding with the second annual International Volkswagen Bus Day. The Wrapmate 3D configurator will enable future ID. Buzz drivers to visualize and design custom wraps in real time, adding a personal touch to their electric vehicles.

Starting in the fall of 2024, customers can order personalized wraps online or through their local VW dealership. Wrapmate, leveraging its network of over 2,000 certified installers across the US, will produce all custom graphics using premium 3M vinyl, ensuring durability and vibrant color quality.

Volkswagen plans to periodically release special edition wraps through the Wrapmate program, designed by artists and brand partners. The first of these special releases is the "Love the Earth" design by visual artist Dr. Bob Hieronimus. This unique design features the phrase "Love the Earth" written in 25 languages, including Māori and Navajo, symbolizing global unity and a deeper connection with our planet.

Dr. Bob Hieronimus, who has a deep-rooted connection with VW buses, painted the original "Light Bus" in 1968, which became the iconic symbol of the Woodstock Art and Music Fair. We reviewed the European version of the ID. Buzz not so long ago. If you've missed it, the article is right here.

The ID. Buzz, set to launch in the US later this year as a 2025 model, will be available in three trims - Pro S, Pro S Plus, and a launch-only 1st Edition. All models will feature a 91 kWh battery, with RWD models offering 282 horsepower and 4Motion AWD models boasting 335 horsepower. Volkswagen will announce the range and pricing closer to the launch date.
