With the latest update, Waze added a cool new feature for cars with a second screen in addition to the central infotainment display. Vehicles supporting Apple's CarPlay and Google's Android Auto can now display Waze on the second instrument cluster screen.

There's a catch, though. Not everything is displayed on the screen behind the wheel. It mostly shows the navigation route, ETA and speed limits. For information on speed cameras, road hazards, etc., you'd still have to peek at the main infotainment screen.

If you want the latest feature to work, you need to install Waze's latest version 5.4. And, of course, your vehicle should support displaying data from third-party apps, because some cars are limited to just showing information from the native infotainment system.

I noticed it tonight in my Toyota Prius. All of a sudden an image of a roundabout showed up on the second screen.

Waze should rather spend their time on fixing the stupid bugs we have. It’s supposed to be a good hands free experience but this stupid google assistant that crash the whole time is killing a good app

Waze does not work with Android Auto if connected using Lyft driver app. Android auto wants to revert back to Lyft maps which is Google maps.
