Xiaomi's EV arm revealed plans to further boost production capacity in order to reduce wait times for SU7 orders. The company's latest increase cuts an average of five-week from the waiting period.

Xiaomi to boost SU7 production capacity even further to meet growing demand

The optimization and maintenance process started yesterday and it's crucial for Xiaomi's plans to expand production even further. Xiaomi spokesperson clarified that the the ongoing optimization will not delay orders for those about to receive them.

In case you've seen other headlines like this in the past, it's not just you. Xiaomi is struggling to meet demand from the very beginning but is reacting quickly and ramping up production as fast as it can. It has started using both CATL and BYD batteries and has been on an hiring spree to secure a double-shift production in June. According to the insurance data in the country, Xiaomi is now comfortably exceeding the 10,000 vehicle target per month.

I live in China. The car is ok, but after initial hype, the situation is not so good for xiaomi. Remember during the launch, they said they sold 1 year of production, but in reality 80% of these orders were cancelled. Now 5 weeks waiting time is also...
