XPeng

XPeng has just revealed a new, aggressively priced version of its popular G6 SUV. The fresh variant is dubbed the G6 580 Plus and aims to expand the G6's reach without compromising the overall experience.

The XPeng G6 580 Plus normally starts at RMB 199,900 (around $27,600), but buyers who act within a limited timeframe could drive home a new G6 580 Plus for a mere RMB 179,900 (approximately $24,800).

The savings mean the new 580 Plus offers a slightly reduced set of comfort features compared to its siblings. The downgrades include less pampering seats and fewer speakers.

Luckily performance is unaffected and new Plus variant offers the same lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery pack with a CLTC range of 360 miles.

The new Plus joins the existing G6 range of five more variants starting at a price of RMB 199,900 and topping out at RMB 276,900 (approximately $27,600 and $38,300 respectively) before applying any available discounts.

The G6 has had a significant impact on XPeng's fortunes. On its launch in mid-2023, the G6 helped reinvigorate the company, attracting buyers with its modern design, impressive technology, and practical SUV format. However, increased competition in the fierce electric car segment has dented recent sales for the G6, so XPeng hopes the new G6 580 Plus can reverse that.
