BMW Digital Key now works on Motorola devices

BMW

BMW's Digital Key has added support for the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra and Razr 50 Ultra (also known as Razr+ in North America).

It works through NFC on the Razr and through UWB technology on the Edge 50 Ultra if it's updated to Android 15 - if not, NFC there too. With UWB, the car automatically unlocks when you approach (this can be turned off, and you can also set it so that your phone needs to be unlocked before the Digital Key can be used).

If you use NFC, then you need to hold your phone against the door handle to unlock the car and place it in the smartphone tray inside to start the car.

The Digital Car Key function lets you share keys with friends and family, including those with iPhones, giving them the ability to unlock and turn on the car too.
