Lucid Air Sapphire's monster final specs revealed: 1,234 hp, 0 to 60 mph in 1.89 seconds

Lucid's most bonkers version of the Air EV is finally fully official, complete with all of its insane specs. The Lucid Air Sapphire is the Tesla Model S Plaid killer, as it comes with a mind-boggling 1,234 hp and 1,430 lb-ft of torque, thanks to its three-motor setup.

Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph takes 1.89 seconds, 0 to 100 mph takes 3.84 seconds, while a quarter mile is achieved in an unreal 8.95 seconds at 158 mph. Top speed is 205 mph. Range is no slouch either, with an EPA-estimated 427 miles on one charge.

All of this performance does come at a cost, as you may have expected. The Lucid Air Sapphire will be priced at $249,000 fully equipped, before "tax, title, registration, and other fees" in the US. Availability for markets outside of the US will be communicated in the future, so it looks like this is going to be US-only for now. Production begins in September, with deliveries "to follow soon after", according to Lucid.

The Air Sapphire comes in an exclusive Sapphire Blue exterior paint combined with Lucid's Stealth Look trim and an aluminum roof to reduce weight and the center of gravity. Inside you get a 34-inch "Glass Cockpit" with over-the-air software update ability and a 21-speaker sound system.

You can pick between four drive modes, which influence the behavior of suspension, steering, brakes, torque vectoring, peak power and torque, and thermal controls. The Track mode has three sub-modes, which are all pretty self-explanatory: Dragstrip, Hot Lap, and Endurance. Finally, Lucid's DreamDrive Pro driver assistance system has "30+ features and future-ready hardware including the first automotive LiDAR in North America".
