Chinese electric vehicle maker Zeekr has just launched its second station wagon, the 007 GT, with an eye on both the domestic market and Europe. Starting at an attractive price of around $27,200, this new EV promises an impressive range, powerful performance, and a host of high-tech features. Zeekr, a premium brand under the Geely Group, is betting big on the popularity of wagons, especially after the success of their first model, the 001.
SUVs have long been the preferred choice in China, but Zeekr believes their stylish and practical wagons can change that. The Zeekr 001 has already proven to be a hit, capturing a large share of the station wagon market in China. The new 007 GT aims to build on this success, positioned as a slightly smaller and more tech-focused option. Its design follows Zeekr’s modern “Hidden Energy” style and shares its base with the Zeekr 007 sedan.
The front of the 007 GT stands out with a large, interactive LED screen that can display images and text. Below this, you’ll find the headlights, along with an active air intake. The sleek hood slopes gently, and a LiDAR sensor sits on the roof, hinting at the car’s advanced driver assistance features. The side profile shows a gently sloping roofline, giving it a sporty “shooting brake” look. Other design touches include hidden door handles, roof rails for extra cargo, and a rear spoiler.
Measuring about 191.34 inches long, 74.8 inches wide, and 57.09 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 115.35 inches, the 007 GT offers plenty of space. It’s only a bit shorter than the Audi A6 Avant e-tron, a popular wagon in Europe. Buyers can also choose from nine different paint colors and add an optional tow hook and air suspension for a smoother ride. It rides on stylish 20-inch wheels.
Inside, the Zeekr 007 GT is packed with technology and comfort. A large 15.4-inch touchscreen dominates the dashboard, and there’s a smaller, oval-shaped screen for the driver’s information. A big augmented reality head-up display projects information onto the windshield. The car features a smart voice assistant that can understand and perform over 200 commands, along with built-in 3D maps. The drive selector is located behind the sporty, flat-bottom steering wheel, a common design in many new Chinese cars.
The center console has physical buttons for quick access, along with a roomy storage area, cupholders, and two wireless phone chargers. For music lovers, the driver’s seat even has built-in speakers in the headrest. Rear passengers get tablet holders for entertainment.
The cabin feels premium with a soft microfiber roof lining and optional red seatbelts for a sporty touch. A large panoramic sunroof lets in plenty of light while blocking almost all harmful UV rays and can be adjusted in ten steps. There are four interior color choices available. The front seats, covered in high-quality Nappa leather, are power-adjustable in 14 ways and offer heating, cooling, and massage functions.
The interior boasts an impressive 83.5% utilization rate and 36 different storage spots. It even has features to secure skis and other long items. The roof rack can carry up to 331 lb. With the rear seats folded down, the trunk offers a massive 61.3 ft³ of space. There’s also an optional hidden refrigerator in the trunk floor.
The 007 GT uses 31 smart sensors, including a LiDAR, 11 cameras, and 3 radar units, all powered by two high-performance Nvidia chips. Its smart driving system enables features like automatic emergency braking and advanced lane-keeping. In tests, the car could automatically stop in a foggy tunnel and avoid obstacles at high speeds.
When it comes to drivetrains, buyers can choose between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. The rear-wheel drive model has a single electric motor producing 310 kW (416 horsepower). The all-wheel drive version adds a front motor, boosting the total power to 475 kW (637 horsepower), allowing it to go from zero to 62 mph in just 2.95 seconds. It also gets Brembo brakes that can bring the car to a stop from 62 mph in just 1,354.3 inches. There are two battery options powering the 007 GT: a 75 kWh and a larger 100 kWh, providing a driving range of 364 miles to 513 miles on a single charge according to Chinese testing standards.
The Zeekr 007 GT is available in four different versions, with prices ranging from approximately $27,610 to $35,780, although early buyers can get a small discount. It comes with a generous warranty, including a lifetime warranty on the electric system. The new Zeekr will arrive in Europe under the name Zeekr 7 GT, and unfortunately, it will be priced much higher than in China.
