Hyundai is working on the smallest member of its Ioniq range yet, and today it has published the first teaser image of the concept car. It's basically a sketch and nothing more, but the concept car will make its debut at the Munich auto show between September 9 and September 14, so we'll know more very soon.
This will be the first compact EV under the Ioniq line, and it's called "THREE". That's very interesting because recently we've seen a purported Ioniq 2 on the streets in Germany.
And yet the concept is called "THREE" so we're wondering if the car could actually be branded Ioniq 3 instead. The lines in the heavily camouflaged prototype definitely seem similar to those in the official sketch.
Hyundai says the concept's side profile "reveals a bold, energetic stance" which is "inspired by the way steel bends and flows", with sculpted surfaces, clean intersections, and "distinctive character lines that emphasize both motion and precision".
The side view also previews the "Aero Hatch" at the rear, which Hyundai bills as "a new typology that reimagines the compact EV silhouette".
