Fresh snaps believed to depict the official Renault Twingo have spilled onto social media ahead of the official debut of this charming electric city car on November 6.

The photos confirm what we've already seen from prototypes and the glimpses we had at Renault’s teaser shots: the new Twingo mirrors the lovable concept shown two years ago almost perfectly. And we're loving it for it.

Paying homage to the classic frog-eyed Twingo model of the 1990s, the latest Twingo embraces a modern reimagining. Its signature LED headlights give the face a cartoonish grin, complemented by a small grille that resembles a mouth and the sensor patch makes it look like the car is sticking its tongue out. The bumper has vertically mounted impact overriders, finishing off the look of a blushy face.

The Twingo sticks to the original’s simple silhouette, including what seem to be three air vents perched on a dark plastic panel up front where the intake of the original was. Since the new Twingo will be electric, we’re yet to find the purpose of those, if there is any whatsoever.

At the rear, a large, pod-like window leaves room for imagination as to where the third brake light sits. The tail lights mirror the look of the headlights, creating what looks like the perfect homage vehicle in recent years.

The leaked shots also give us an early peek inside, showing a cabin that closely mirrors the concept. Two big screens dominate the dash, flanked by a row of physical climate controls, a prominent hazard light switch - a nod to the classic Twingo - and a bright yellow dashboard panel that injects a playful splash of color into an otherwise black, likely plastics-heavy interior.

The platform of the Twingo will be shared with the Renault 4 and 5 - the AmpR Small. However, it will use smaller and less-advanced LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries. This will help keep the costs low and differentiate the models enough from each other.

The “Twingo R Pass” we wrote about recently will let you reserve a spot before anyone else, making sure you are among the first few to receive a new Twingo E-Tech. Details about pricing and availability are not official but we suppose it will be among the cheapest EVs in Europe, closely following the Dacia Spring and Leapmotor T03.
