Google

Google's Gemini AI is now rolling out to Android Auto in 45 languages. This will unfortunately take several months to complete, but once you get it, it will replace Google Assistant on Android Auto. Note that you need to have replaced Google Assistant with Gemini on your phone for the change to make it to Android Auto as well.

Google says Android Auto is available in "over 250 million cars on the road" today. Gemini will "continue to provide the hands-free features you rely on, but goes way further as a truly conversational AI assistant". You can talk to it naturally, as you would to a friend, and even have a back and forth conversation and get complex tasks done.

Gemini can help you add stops on your way, and it can give you insights from reviews and answer common questions about businesses so you know which to pick. It can also insert emoji into texts, and translate what you say in over 40 languages. It helps find information buried in your emails, and even provides a summary of your unread emails.

Want a playlist for your road trip? That's easy too. Just describe what you want and you'll get it. You can also ask Gemini about the place you're driving to, brainstorm things like gift ideas, and rehearse speeches and such.
