Samsung continues to expand its support for more digital car key access using its Samsung Wallet app. The latest addition to the support list is Toyota, but as is always the case, not all models made it to the list.
Starting January 2026, Samsung Wallet will accept digital keys for the Toyota RAV4 2026, but the support will soon expand to more models. Owners in the USA, Canada and Mexico will be the first to get access to Toyota digital keys on their compatible Samsung phones.
Since digital car keys require not just NFC, but also UWB (Ultra-Wideband) connectivity, only Samsung phones that support UWB can unlock your RAV4 using Samsung Wallet. The standardized communication protocol by the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC) is also present for an extra layer of security.
A wider rollout is expected in Europe, aligned with Toyota's launch timeline for its vehicles.
