Mitsubishi publishes charging specs for its upcoming Eclipse Sportback EV

Mitsubishi first revealed the Eclipse Sportback EV in early June, and now it's come back with some details about its charging capabilities. The car will have an NACS port and will thus gain access to the Tesla Supercharger network.

It will charge at up to 150 kW DC, going from 10% to 80% in approximately 35 minutes. The car will also have a J1772 plug that can be used for Level 1 and Level 2 charging at home.

Those charging specs are fully aligned with the new Nissan Leaf's, and that's because the Mitsubishi Eclipse Sportback EV is a new Nissan Leaf, but fitted with "unique front and rear fascias that echo other vehicles in Mitsubishi Motors’ global lineup, distinct front and rear lights and light signatures, striking and sporty alloy wheels", and "the brand's iconic Triple Diamond branding", according to the official press release.

That's the entire extent of Mitsubishi's modifications to the Leaf. Everything else about the Eclipse Sportback EV is identical to the Leaf. Mitsubishi promises to release more information about the car "in the near future", so stay tuned.
