Samsung has announced a partnership with US chip giant Qualcomm Technologies. The collaboration will focus on producing advanced chips for a range of automotive applications, particularly for the in-vehicle infotainment and driver-assistance systems.

At the heart of this partnership lies Samsung's latest LPDDR4X memory chip, which has been successfully certified for use with Qualcomm's Snapdragon Digital Chassis. This duo will be used to power the premium infotainment systems and sophisticated driver-assistance features we can expect to see in future vehicles.

Looking ahead, Samsung plans to start mass production of its next-generation LPDDR5 memory chip this year, which should also make it to cars in the near future. It will be integrated into Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon Digital Chassis and is projected to deliver speeds of up to 9.6 gigabits per second, even in extreme temperatures.
