VW Announcement

Volkswagen has announced a new GTX trim for the ID.7 and revealed that it will go on pre-sale alongside the existing ID.7 Pro S and ID.7 Tourer GTX and Pro S trims on June 6.

All GTX and Pro S models ship with the bigger 86 kWh battery, which offers a longer WLTP range - 370 miles on the 250 kW ID.7 GTX, 364 miles on the ID.7 GTX Tourer, a whopping 429 miles on the ID.7 Tourer Pro S, and even more impressive 441 miles on the ID.7 Pro S.

The new ID.7 GTX trim has a distinctive GTX design, new 20-inch Skagen alloy wheels with diamond-cut surfaces, IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, and illuminated Volkswagen logos on the front and rear.

Inside, there's perforated GTX lettering on the backrests, and contrasting topstitching on the seats. The multifunction steering wheel also has a red center panel and red stitching.

The ID.7 GTX fastback delivers 250 kW from the two electric motors on each axle to sprint from rest to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds. The 86 kWh battery can charge at 200 kW DC fast charging and does the 10% to 80% dash in 26 minutes. Boot space is 532 litres.

The ID.7 GTX Tourer is the most powerful VW estate and does the jump to 62 mph in 5.5 seconds. Perhaps more impressive is its 605 liters of luggage capacity with five people on board.

Volkswagen hasn't said when the new ID.7 trims will begin shipping.
