They didn't remove it in update. Teslas never had regen via brake pedal cause Elon and others there think that is safer that braking system is totally independent. Only thing that they had removed via update is ability to pick how much regenerat...
If I am not mistaken, Teslas were able to regenerate energy regularly via break pedal ... but they changed it in some genius update.
