Rivian

It's March 7 today, and you know what that means, right? It's time for Rivian's R2 to finally get official. We've seen plenty of teasers about it, there was even a last-minute leak this week, but nothing beats an actual unveiling ceremony, and that's exactly what Rivian has planned for later today.

It kicks off at 10 AM Pacific, which is 1 PM Eastern, 18:00 GMT, 19:00 CET, and 23:30 in India. The whole thing will be live streamed, and we've embedded the stream below for your viewing pleasure.

The R2 will be Rivian's most affordable vehicle so far, thus having the potential to go much more mass-market than the R1S and R1T. It has been described as a shrunken down version of the R1S, still being an SUV and all - which is good because SUVs are taking over the world, in case you haven't noticed.

According to the aforementioned last-minute leak, the R2 will have a starting price of $47,000 and range of up to 330 miles. It will do 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds. It's 185.6 inches long, 75 inches wide, and 66.9 inches tall, with a 115.6 inches wheelbase. It's also expected to come with the NACS connector built-in.

Scaringe needs to go fast: drop the price of R1 towards $50k until that fills the max factory capacity including all shifts. Pull in the R2 delivery date to early-2025. And then re-introduce a revised R1 all below $80k. Push out the R3 & R3X ...
