Waymo arrives in three new cities

Today Waymo has announced its expansion into three new cities in the US: Denver, San Diego, and Tampa. With these three, the total number of cities where Waymo operates in the US is now 14.

The company says "tens of thousands" of people in Denver, San Diego, and Tampa signed up and expressed their interest in Waymo's autonomous ride-hailing service, and it will "steadily offer more and more riders Waymo access in these cities", as it works towards opening the service to everyone.

The service areas "cover the places you actually need to go and want to go", Waymo says, positioning its service as useful for those who are "running errands" or "heading back after a late shift" or just "catching a safe ride home".
