Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPeng has officially entered the French market, expanding its international presence by launching two SUVs, the G9 and G6. This is a significant step in Xpeng's "V 2.0" global strategy, bringing its advanced EV technology to a wider audience.

The G9, XPeng's flagship model, is now available in France in three versions: Standard Range, Long Range, and Performance. The first two variants have a single electric motor powering the rear wheels. The Performance version boasts two motors and an all-wheel drive system. The G9's price tag starts at $70,280 and goes up to $86,680 for the top-tier Performance model.

This large SUV offers a choice between 78.2 kWh or 98 kWh battery capacities and performance ranging from 230 kW (312 hp) to 405 kW (550 hp). The Performance model, in particular, can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 3.9 seconds, offering an exhilarating driving experience. Range-wise, the rear-wheel drive versions of the G9 can cover distances of 286 miles and 354 miles, respectively, while the all-wheel-drive Performance model has a range of 323 miles.

One of the G9's standout features is its 800 V high-voltage platform, enabling a charging power of 300 kW. This allows for a rapid charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 20 minutes, minimizing driver downtime.

In addition to the G9, XPeng is introducing the G6, a smaller SUV designed to compete with the Tesla Model Y. The G6 is also available in three versions: Standard Range, Long Range, and Performance, offering two battery capacities - 66 kWh and 87.5 kWh. The G6 Standard Range boasts 255 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 6.9 seconds with a WLTP range of 270 miles.

The Long Range version ups the power slightly to 280 hp, while the Performance version packs a powerful punch with 470 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque, reaching 62 mph in a swift 4.1 seconds. The G6 also shares the G9's impressive charging speed, capable of charging from 10 percent to 80 percent in 20 minutes.

The expansion into the French market comes at a time when XPeng is experiencing strong growth. In the first four months of this year, the company delivered 31,214 vehicles, a significant increase of 23.33 percent year-over-year. The G9 and G6 models played a crucial role in this success, contributing 19.77 percent and 21.05 percent of XPeng's total deliveries, respectively.
