Porsche

Porsche enthusiasts and electric vehicle fans alike have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Porsche Macan EV. The countdown is on, with the unveiling now officially set for January 25, 2024.

Along with the announcement date we got a teaser with a glimpse of the Macan EV's darkened tail light. Clicking the "Electrify Now" link takes you to a landing page where you can subscribe to the Macan EV newsletter, but sadly there's no more information there.

After years of teasers and spy shots, the wait for the Macan EV is almost over. Porsche has been feeding us bits of information, so we know quite a bit about the upcoming SUV. The Macan EV is expected to sport a coupe-like profile and a capable drivetrain.

Porsche claims a remarkable drag coefficient of 0.25, in contrast to the current Macan's 0.35. This improved aerodynamics should translate into a range of approximately 300 miles, pending EPA testing results – an impressive result for a performance-focused SUV.

Under the sleek exterior, the Macan EV should boast two permanently excited electric motors, delivering up to 603 horsepower and a whopping 738 lb-ft of torque for Turbo models. A 100 kWh 800V battery is at the heart of the new PPE architecture. A 10% to 80% charge will take less than 22 minutes at a 400-volt charging point – and presumably even faster on a proper 800V one.

Porsche also gave us a look at the interior with its three ample screens and AR HUD.

Not long left now - the final bits will be revealed 10 days from now and hopefully Porsche will also put a price to all those niceties. And in the meantime we'll be on the lookout for any more teasers and keep you updated!
