Seres

The Seres 5, detailed at this year's auto show in Brussels, will be coming to Europe as early as this spring. And to some extent, we already know what to expect from the Seres 5, as the compact SUV is already sold in China.

However, Seres contacted us to clarify that there will be one substantial difference between the European Seres 5 and its Chinese counterpart and that's the brains of the car.

Seres drops Huawei's HarmonyOS for Android Auto in Europe

In China, Seres has a deal with Huawei, which provides the HarmonyOS software for vehicles and extra services such as HiCar and even drivetrain and sound tuning. In Europe however, HarmonyOS will be replaced by Android Auto and that's what the Seres 5 was running at Brussels' auto show last week.

Perhaps it's not that big of a surprise since HarmonyOS has limited functionality and poor integration with devices sold in Western markets as well as services.

Well it's not a bad thing when Android is free and allows APKs. No need to add competition to something that's already just about perfect. I mean next thing you know this addition to the "duopoly" will pull an Apple and make terri...
