Zeekr

Earlier this month, a refreshed Zeekr 001 got certified for sale in China, and, as usual, that process yielded a bunch of pictures and details about its specifications. What we didn't know at the time was when Zeekr planned on making the new 001 official. That changes today.

The company has announced that it's getting introduced on February 27. Furthermore, the new Zeekr 001's ambassador is none other than the first Chinese Formula 1 driver in history, Zhou Guanyu.

He has the honorary title of Chief Driving Officer, while former Formula 1 World Champion Kimi Räikkönen has been Zeekr's Chief Performance Advisor since last year, overseeing the launch of the Zeekr 001 FR.

Zeekr has sold 152,064 001 units so far since the original model's release in October of 2021. The refresh comes with a new 95 kWh LFP battery pack, and a new entry-level 415 hp powertrain replacing the old 272 hp one. The AWD version gets 778 hp, 234 hp more than before. There are some minor visual changes too, like new front and rear bumpers, and new color options, as well as optional LiDAR.
