BYD Yangwang

Lian Yubo, the executive vice president of BYD Group, announced today during the APEC SME Business Forum 2022 that the Yangwang brand will be a key part of BYD's entry into the luxury market. He stated that the brand's first model will be equipped with powerful motors and a battery with a high level of safety. The official unveiling of the premium Yangwang brand and its first model is scheduled to take place in two weeks.

According to Lian, the first model in the Yangwang brand lineup will offer a game-changing driving experience with its exceptional performance on and off-road, as well as its ability to adapt to a variety of road conditions.

Earlier today, Yangwang posted several photographs on Weibo that showed some of the features of the first model in the brand's lineup. It is expected that the pricing for Yangwang's products will range from RMB 800,000 ($110,320) to RMB 1.5 million. However, specific prices for each model will be announced at the time of their official release.

On December 8, Yangwang unveiled its new logo, which was inspired by the Chinese character meaning power or electricity. The company stated that they gave the character a new interpretation in their design.

In late November, several leaked photographs circulated on social media, claiming to show Yangwang's off-road SUV, reportedly known internally as the R1, undergoing testing in a mountainous region. The official launch of the Yangwang brand and its first model is expected to take place in the near future.

Based on the leaked photographs, it appears that the R1 has a large size and a long wheelbase. The mountainous testing location suggests that the vehicle has a high ground clearance and is capable of easily tackling rough roads and steep terrain. The official launch of the Yangwang brand and its first model is expected to take place in the near future.
