Porsche Taycan and Taycan Sport Turismo are about to debut their first facelift. Although it may feel that both EVs are new, Taycan was unveiled nearly 4 years ago and its Sport Turismo version will be two years old this year.
While it may feel it is too early for mid-life facelift, the world of electric cars is moving on fast. The technology has changed a lot in the last couple of years and Porsche is updating both Taycan versions and decided that small cosmetic changes are in order.
Thanks to the YouTube channel CarSpyMedia we have the best and clearest look yet at both vehicles. According to the channel, Taycan and Taycan Sport Turismo were spotted during winter testing in Sweden. As you’ll see in the video, both cars are wearing a minimal camouflage and are seen for the first time in plenty of detail:
There are subtle changes visible on both the vehicles, the bumpers have different air intakes, there are new vents and although the headlights have similar layout, the LED elements seem to be a bit narrower than on the current models.
The biggest takeaway from this video is the possibility that what we see are the tri-motor 1,000 hp versions of Taycan and Sport Turismo undergoing winter testing. Porsche has been rumored for a long time to be working on the triple electric motor setup for the Taycan.
The 761 hp Porsche Taycan Turbo S was faster around Nurburgring than the Tesla Model S Plaid but the company is not settling for that record. With quite a few EV manufacturers offering electric cars with more than 1,000 hp Porsche has no choice but to up the game to retain the image of the best sports car manufacturer.
